Opportunities we offer

It has been great having EBEs for our interviews! They bring a fresh and unique perspective and they make the interview atmosphere more relaxed.

As an Expert by Experience (EbE), the following types of opportunities will be available to you.

Interview panels
Be part of the decision making when it comes to who we hire. Have a place on our interview panels and ask questions to interviewees to assess their suitability for the position they have applied for. Interview panels take place either in person or online, during the day within normal working hours.

Advisory groups
Our Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG) meet regularly to discuss and review the latest service initiatives. Is the service using the correct messaging in its resources? How would a patient feel about a new intervention? Let us know what you think. The LEAG takes place online via Microsoft Teams on the third Wednesday of every month, 5.30pm until 7pm.

Be a service champion
As a service rep you can raise awareness in public forums and at public events, such as recruitment fairs and conferences. Alongside a member of our team you can share your experience safely - through interviews and live talks. Times and dates for service champion opportunities will vary.

Reviewing materials and documents
When creating new promotional materials or patient documents, we like to ask our EbEs to review and provide a sense check of our information. This can be completed in your own time but a deadline will be provided.

Project surveys & feedback questionnaires
For these volunteer opportunities, we’ll add you to our mailing list and contact you occasionally for your opinions on any service improvement ideas and initiatives. These can be completed in your own time but a deadline will be provided.

Share your experience with using the service
Most importantly, being an EbE means giving you the opportunity, if you wish, to share your experience. Whether that’s how you found your treatment as a patient in the service, what you think worked well, or what didn’t work for you. We are here to listen, and use our learning to continue improving how Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service operates.
