FAQs

They’re such a welcoming and supportive team, so you feel like you’re conversing with colleagues and really having a positive impact.
  • It's a really simple process. The first step is to take a look at the information on these pages, and if being an EbE sounds like something you'd enjoy, please complete an Expression of Interest Form.

  • A member of our team will get in touch to talk through the process and answer and questions you have. You'll then be added to the waiting list for training.

  • We'll explain all you need to know in the EbE training, which covers a range of details about the payment process. You will need to complete a timesheet to keep track of any projects you are involved in, but there's no need to submit invoices or expense claims. Anything administrative will be taken care of by our team. You'll be paid on a monthly basis.

Rates of pay are set by Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and you can view the policy here.

  • We use the PAYE (pay-as-you-earn) system. Payment is taxed at source, so income tax and national insurance is automatically deducted.

This may may have an affect on your personal allowance and any benefits you are in receipt of (such as universal credit, tax credits and job seekers allowance) so we would recommend checking with HMRC in you're unsure how this might impact you.

  • Not at all. There are no minimum or maximum time commitments. You can choose to take part in the opportunities that work best for you and your schedule.

  • Yes, definitely. We encourage applications from people who have provided care for those who have used the Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service.

We define a carer as someone who provides unpaid care for a family member, partner or friend who needs help and can't manage on their own. If you've had the role of a carer, please do consider becoming an EbE.

  • Of course, our team will be happy to answer any queries you have prior to completing the form.

Please drop an email to spft.bwslearninganddevelopment@nhs.net and we'll get back to you.
