What is ASC/LD Counselling?
ASC/LD counselling is counselling that has been adapted to ensure it is accessible for autistic children and young people and or children and young people with Learning disabilities.
You will work with a counsellor who is trained and experienced in working with autistic children and young people and children and young people with Learning disabilities.
To access this counselling offer a young person must have a diagnosis, we unfortunately cannot offer this specific support to young people who are awaiting diagnosis.
ASC/LD counselling can support children and young people who are experiencing:
Low mood
Feelings of anxiety
Challenges recognising and regulating emotions
Challenges adapting to their diagnosis
How does ASC/LD counselling work?
Children and young people will receive 10 sessions of counselling with a specialist counsellor.
These sessions will take place once per week on the same day and time with the same counsellor. They may be face to face or via video call, depending on the need of the child or young person.
If you are aged between 18 and 25 (or older), please complete a referral form for the Adult Wellbeing Service.
